And ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood

Zion, October 14, 2011

The first law of heaven is obedience. The second la of heaven is the law of Sacrifice. The third law of heaven is the Law of The Gospel of Jesus Christ. The forth law of heaven is the Law of Chastity; and the fifth la of heaven is the law of Consecration, which is the highest of these laws to my current and limited knowledge.  All these laws are interconnected with each others as links in a chain from beginning to end.

The Jews and all those that have not received the gospel of Jesus Christ and those that break any other law after the law of the gospel are all still required to offer sacrifices according to the laws they obey or disobey.

Concerning the Law of Sacrifice, it can only come through repentance which cannot take place or be given to an individual or a collective body of individuals without an acceptable offering or an atoning sacrifice. Therefore, blood sacrifices and burn offerings were required even from the beginning or from Adam to Moses and from Moses to Jesus Christ as a penalty or a satisfactory way to amend for a broken law or the law of obedience and to satisfy the demand of justice. Without justice, mercy, which is the law of the gospel, cannot take place in order to justify a sinner. Jesus Christ is the mediator of the new and everlasting covenant, even the ultimate, most complete and eternal sacrifice and the binding tie from all laws or form past, present and future laws. For, after Adam’s fall we all fell. His infinite sacrifice was needful to cleanse us all from the sins of the entire human race; or both from the temporal death and eternal death, upon ONLY upon the conditions of repentance. Therefore, as the prophet Samuel said: it is better to obey than to sacrifice and to pay attention than the fat of rams.  Of if we break a law, we must forcefully sacrifice. For of this it is written:

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

(Old Testament | 1 Samuel 15:22)

There have been, are and will be all kids of sacrifices, but atonement for sin can only come to pass by the sacrifice of blood. Anciently there were animal sacrifices, peace offerings and holocausts were offered unto the LORD as a type and shadows of things to come. Blood sacrifices and burnt offering were used cleanses us and to purify us from sin. Fowls and other clean animals were used to make peace between men and God or as a truce until better times. But the sacrifices of blood ceased by the shedding of blood of the Lamb of God in the meridian of times when the law of Sacrifice was fully consummated and the law of obedience restituted.  Here is the law and the testimony from beginning to end:

And after many days an angel of the Lord appeared unto Adam, saying: Why dost thou offer sacrifices unto the Lord?  And Adam said unto him: I know not, save the Lord commanded me. And then the angel spake, saying: This thing is a similitude of the sacrifice of the Only Begotten of the Father, which is full of grace and truth. Wherefore, thou shalt do all that thou doest in the name of the Son, and thou shalt repent and call upon God in the name of the Son forevermore.

(Pearl of Great Price | Moses 5:6 - 8)

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

(Old Testament | Genesis 8:20)

And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.

(Old Testament | Leviticus 1:14)

I am the light and the life of the world.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. And ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood; yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away, for I will accept none of your sacrifices and your burnt offerings. And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit.  And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in me at the time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not. Behold, I have come unto the world to bring redemption unto the world, to save the world from sin. Therefore, whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the kingdom of God.  Behold, for such I have laid down my life, and have taken it up again; therefore repent, and come unto me ye ends of the earth, and be saved.

(Book of Mormon | 3 Nephi 9:18 - 22)

So the sacrifices do and will always continue to be until all sin is eradicated from the earth and the land is cleansed, purified and sanctified. Of if this it is written in the book of Moses even from the beginning, yet this knowledge was lost from the cannon of scriptures due to iniquity:

Wherefore teach it unto your children, that all men, everywhere, must repent, or they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God, for no unclean thing can dwell there, or dwell in his presence; for, in the language of Adam, Man of Holiness is his name, and the name of his Only Begotten is the Son of Man, even Jesus Christ, a righteous Judge, who shall come in the meridian of time. Therefore I give unto you a commandment, to teach these things freely unto your children, saying:

That by reason of transgression cometh the fall, which fall bringeth death, and inasmuch as ye were born into the world by water, and blood, and the spirit, which I have made, and so became of dust a living soul, even so ye must be born again into the kingdom of heaven, of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten; that ye might be sanctified from all sin, and enjoy the words of eternal life in this world, and eternal life in the world to come, even immortal glory; For by the water ye keep the commandment; by the Spirit ye are justified, and by the blood ye are sanctified;

Therefore it is given to abide in you; the record of heaven; the Comforter; the peaceable things of immortal glory; the truth of all things; that which quickeneth all things, which maketh alive all things; that which knoweth all things, and hath all power according to wisdom, mercy, truth, justice, and judgment. And now, behold, I say unto you: This is the plan of salvation unto all men, through the blood of mine Only Begotten, who shall come in the meridian of time.

And behold, all things have their likeness, and all things are created and made to bear record of me, both things which are temporal, and things which are spiritual; things which are in the heavens above, and things which are on the earth, and things which are in the earth, and things which are under the earth, both above and beneath: all things bear record of me.

And it came to pass, when the Lord had spoken with Adam, our father, that Adam cried unto the Lord, and he was caught away by the Spirit of the Lord, and was carried down into the water, and was laid under the water, and was brought forth out of the water. And thus he was baptized, and the Spirit of God descended upon him, and thus he was born of the Spirit, and became quickened in the inner man. And he heard a voice out of heaven, saying: Thou art baptized with fire, and with the Holy Ghost.  This is the record of the Father, and the Son, from henceforth and forever; And thou art after the order of him who was without beginning of days or end of years, from all eternity to all eternity. Behold, thou art one in me, a son of God; and thus may all become my sons.  Amen.

(Pearl of Great Price | Moses 6:57 - 68)

A broken heart is a painful sensation or the despair, guilt or uncleanness for sin or for breaking a law, or as the pain felt when someone is pierced by an instrument. It is a similitude of the sacrifice of blood as when Christ suffered death on the cross. It is the requirement of eternal justice to atone for the temporal death or from the mortal to the immortal. Or, it is to make one person whole or innocent again against temporal death and qualify him or her for resurrection. This is a free gift for all mankind. For, as temporal death freely entered to all men through the fall of one man, life can also enter intro every dead soul through the death on the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

A contrite spirit is anguish or oppression of soul that makes us cry bitterly in river of tears or even blood from every pore. This is a similitude of the pain the LORD suffered in Gethsemane to atone fro our spiritual death, which is the greatest of all pains. And it is a similitude of a burnt offering or the greatest pain that a living soul can suffer. This was required of Jesus Christ to gives a chance to return unto God forever and ever. But this is not free, it is required that we repent by both offering unto the Lord a broken heart and  a contrite spirit. Of this it is written:

And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.

And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.

And lo, he cometh unto his own, that salvation might come unto the children of men even through faith on his name; and even after all this they shall consider him a man, and say that he hath a devil, and shall scourge him, and shall crucify him. And he sha1l rise the third day from the dead; and behold, he standeth to judge the world; and behold, all these things are done that a righteous judgment might come upon the children of men. For behold, and also his blood atoneth for the sins of those who have fallen by the transgression of Adam, who have died not knowing the will of God concerning them, or who have ignorantly sinned.

But wo, wo unto him who knoweth that he rebelleth against God!  For salvation cometh to none such except it be through repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ. And the Lord God hath sent his holy prophets among all the children of men, to declare these things to every kindred, nation, and tongue, that thereby whosoever should believe that Christ should come, the same might receive remission of their sins, and rejoice with exceedingly great joy, even as though he had already come among them.

Yet the Lord God saw that his people were a stiffnecked people, and he appointed unto them a law, even the law of Moses. And many signs, and wonders, and types, and shadows showed he unto them, concerning his coming; and also holy prophets spake unto them concerning his coming; and yet they hardened their hearts, and understood not that the law of Moses availeth nothing except it were through the atonement of his blood. And even if it were possible that little children could sin they could not be saved; but I say unto you they are blessed; for behold, as in Adam, or by nature, they fall, even so the blood of Christ atoneth for their sins.

And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.

(Book of Mormon | Mosiah 3:7 - 17)

Wherefore, I will explain unto you this mystery, for it is meet unto you to know even as mine apostles. I speak unto you that are chosen in this thing, even as one, that you may enter into my rest. For, behold, the mystery of godliness, how great is it!  For, behold, I am endless, and the punishment which is given from my hand is endless punishment, for Endless is my name.  Wherefore— Eternal punishment is God's punishment. Endless punishment is God's punishment. Wherefore, I command you to repent, and keep the commandments which you have received by the hand of my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., in my name; And it is by my almighty power that you have received them; Therefore I command you to repent—repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your sufferings be sore—how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not.

For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent; But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I; Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink— Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.

Wherefore, I command you again to repent, lest I humble you with my almighty power; and that you confess your sins, lest you suffer these punishments of which I have spoken, of which in the smallest, yea, even in the least degree you have tasted at the time I withdrew my Spirit.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 19:8 - 20)

Of these things I humbly testify in the name of the Son of the Man of Holiness, even the LORD Jesus Christ, Amen.

An unworthy servant in the hands of Christ

AND now it came to pass that when Jesus had ended these sayings he cast his eyes round about on the multitude, and said unto them: Behold, ye have heard the things which I taught before I ascended to my Father; therefore, whoso remembereth these sayings of mine and doeth them, him will I raise up at the last day.

And it came to pass that when Jesus had said these words he perceived that there were some among them who marveled, and wondered what he would concerning the law of Moses; for they understood not the saying that old things had passed away, and that all things had become new.

And he said unto them: Marvel not that I said unto you that old things had passed away, and that all things had become new. Behold, I say unto you that the law is fulfilled that was given unto Moses. Behold, I am he that gave the law, and I am he who covenanted with my people Israel; therefore, the law in me is fulfilled, for I have come to fulfil the law; therefore it hath an end. Behold, I do not destroy the prophets, for as many as have not been fulfilled in me, verily I say unto you, shall all be fulfilled.

And because I said unto you that old things have passed away, I do not destroy that which hath been spoken concerning things which are to come. For behold, the covenant which I have made with my people is not all fulfilled; but the law which was given unto Moses hath an end in me. Behold, I am the law, and the light. Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life. Behold, I have given unto you the commandments; therefore keep my commandments. And this is the law and the prophets, for they truly testified of me.
