The laws of heaven are the constitution of temporal salvation and eternal life. All things in heaven and under heaven are governed by laws and eternal principles that affect our life and permanence in this world and in the world to come. Or in other words, I want to say plainly and clearly that decisions determine destiny.
According to divine justice we have been counseled in the holy scriptures to be holy and perfect even as God and his only begotten son are perfect. This we can only accomplish by keeping the laws and commandments of God which lead to greater self sufficiency and even to ultimate freedom to know what he knows, to act or do as he does and be to like God and his Son are.

And, on the others side, the violation or abuse of those heavenly laws and principles whether we know them or not, lead irrevocably to suffering, slavery, misery, desolation and even death or separation. For it is known to us that even though no one can be saved or destroyed in complete ignorance, it is known to many of us by the wirings of a great king, priest and prophet that many do actually suffer in ignorance.
And therefore, the knowledge and remembrance of those commandments and laws which have been written by the holy prophets and passed down to us even up to these latter days can help each and everyone of us to extend our life both temporally and eternally; or to at least to keep us in track and in the knowledge of our duty to God and our fellow man. And it is our solemn commandment; and our obligation; and our duty to God and our fellow men to teach make these things known unto our children and if possible unto all the inhabitants of the earth. Preaching the gospel is just, for if this it is written:
My sons, I would that ye should remember that were it not for these plates, which contain these records and these commandments, we must have suffered in ignorance, even at this present time, not knowing the mysteries of God.
For it were not possible that our father, Lehi, could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except it were for the help of these plates; for he having been taught in the language of the Egyptians therefore he could read these engravings, and teach them to his children, that thereby they could teach them to their children, and so fulfilling the commandments of God, even down to this present time.
I say unto you, my sons, were it not for these things, which have been kept and preserved by the hand of God, that we might read and understand of his mysteries, and have his commandments always before our eyes, that even our fathers would have dwindled in unbelief, and we should have been like unto our brethren, the Lamanites, who know nothing concerning these things, or even do not believe them when they are taught them, because of the traditions of their fathers, which are not correct.
O my sons, I would that ye should remember that these sayings are true, and also that these records are true. And behold, also the plates of Nephi, which contain the records and the sayings of our fathers from the time they left Jerusalem until now, and they are true; and we can know of their surety because we have them before our eyes.
And now, my sons, I would that ye should remember to search them diligently, that ye may profit thereby; and I would that ye should keep the commandments of God, that ye may prosper in the land according to the promises which the Lord made unto our fathers. And many more things did king Benjamin teach his sons, which are not written in this book.
(Book of Mormon | Mosiah 1:3 - 8)
And therefore, all truthful laws carry the conditions of life and the death penalty imbedded for as the scriptures make plainly manifest that the penalty of sin is death and also that by braking one jota or point of the law one breaks the whole law. And when that does happens temporal or eternal justice must exact its toll upon each or all perpetrators in its proper and due time. So, even though the laws of God keep us in life though mediation, they also administer death. Therefore, when we break the law whether it is temporally or eternally, we cannot expect the law to save us. We need either a temporal or an eternal mediator or both to make atonement or intercession for our great or small shortcoming when we have broken the law. And if we manage to remain faithful to the law and in the word of God, the truth shall make us free from temporal and/or spiritual bondage that so easily entrapped us.
If you bear patiently with me, in the curse of this journey, we will learn that some of those mediators of which the scriptures speak are and have been the holy prophets, the faithful priests, the saints of God and most importantly the Son of God himself, even Jesus Christ, who was slain for the sins of the whole world. And who was, is and who will forever be the eternal mediator and our advocate with God the Father. But this is only as long as we are obedient and abide by the strict conditions of redemption which are faith in Jesus Christ for repentance to start with. And this is what the law and the testimony, even the Lord Jesus had and has to say about this in order for us to be able to better govern or God given freedom and moral agency if it is that we desire eternal life and/or ultimate freedom:
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
(New Testament | John 8:31 - 32)
This is why we need to learn to live not only of bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God. For, He, the almighty has given us diverse commandments ever since the beginning of the world which were firmly established and sanctioned in the great councils of heaven even before the foundation of the world. No divine given commandment is temporal in nature but spiritual.
However, there are mortal commandments which sins carry immediate sanction and immediate or latent application of the death penalty whether temporally or eternal of which there is no return unless we abide by the conditions of. In temporal matters, for instance, no one will ever resurrect without having to pass though death. And in eternal things, no one who is accountable before God and has sinned can return to live in the presence of God without faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism and the bestowal of the gift of the gift of the Holy Ghost by those in authority.
With regards to the holy and great commandments, some are the mortal commandments which penalty is death. Some are capital commandments which sinful nature separates us from holiness and the presence of heaven and which demand just retributions until the demands of justice are fully satisfied. And some are minor commandments which little sin awfully decreases our justification and therefore our permanence in this world. Yet, no matter how great or small, all sins, whether great or small create stains in our body and in our soul and therefore make each and every mortal ineligible to stand and remain in the presence of God and be happy. For nothing impure can dwell or stand in the presence of God or in the kingdom of haven. Of this it is written as the prophet Lehi described it in the book of Mormon saying:
Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth. Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.
Wherefore, he is the firstfruits unto God, inasmuch as he shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved. And because of the intercession for all, all men come unto God; wherefore, they stand in the presence of him, to be judged of him according to the truth and holiness which is in him. Wherefore, the ends of the law which the Holy One hath given, unto the inflicting of the punishment which is affixed, which punishment that is affixed is in opposition to that of the happiness which is affixed, to answer the ends of the atonement.
(Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 2:6 - 10)
The spiritual, eternal and mortal commandments, none of which is temporal, given to us by the king of the universe are non discriminatory and are therefore for all to keep and honor whether we are children of the kingdom of God or not; or whether we are inside or outside the gate of the kingdom of God . The revelations and instructions that we have received from God through Joseph Smith Jun, clarify somewhat more explicit on this matter, in which God himself says:
I AM Alpha and Omega, Christ the Lord; yea, even I am he, the beginning and the end, the Redeemer of the world. I, having accomplished and finished the will of him whose I am, even the Father, concerning me—having done this that I might subdue all things unto myself— Retaining all power, even to the destroying of Satan and his works at the end of the world, and the last great day of judgment, which I shall pass upon the inhabitants thereof, judging every man according to his works and the deeds which he hath done.
And surely every man must repent or suffer, for I, God, am endless. Wherefore, I revoke not the judgments which I shall pass, but woes shall go forth, weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, yea, to those who are found on my left hand. Nevertheless, it is not written that there shall be no end to this torment, but it is written endless torment. Again, it is written eternal damnation; wherefore it is more express than other scriptures, that it might work upon the hearts of the children of men, altogether for my name's glory. Wherefore, I will explain unto you this mystery, for it is meet unto you to know even as mine apostles. I speak unto you that are chosen in this thing, even as one, that you may enter into my rest. For, behold, the mystery of godliness, how great is it! For, behold, I am endless, and the punishment which is given from my hand is endless punishment, for Endless is my name. Wherefore— Eternal punishment is God's punishment. Endless punishment is God's punishment.
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 19:1 - 12)
Speaking unto you that you may naturally understand; but unto myself my works have no end, neither beginning; but it is given unto you that ye may understand, because ye have asked it of me and are agreed. Wherefore, verily I say unto you that all things unto me are spiritual, and not at any time have I given unto you a law which was temporal; neither any man, nor the children of men; neither Adam, your father, whom I created. Behold, I gave unto him that he should be an agent unto himself; and I gave unto him commandment, but no temporal commandment gave I unto him, for my commandments are spiritual; they are not natural nor temporal, neither carnal nor sensual.
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 29:33 - 35)
Therefore, the ten or the thirteen first and great commandments that we know are the constitution of all life and therefore as the prophet of God in his church recently said, they are not negotiable. He has also said and I bear witness that he cannot stress strong enough that decisions determine destiny. That we cannot be right by doing wrong and that we cannot be wrong by ding right. And another angelic prophet as one who flies in the skies reminded us of the words of the prophet of the restoration who warned us of making sudden moves or that we should slow down. For if we run as fast as the world is going in these very turbulent times, we are going to crash against the wall if not fall into the pit as a car, in the streets, as plain in the sky or as a great ship crashes upon the icebergs of the frigid seas.
By he laws of heaven, breaking any of these heavenly laws or great commandments carry with it the application of the death penalty. And by willfully breaking three full and a fourth of these transgressions makes the punishment irrevocable as colorfully described in the law and the testimony and more particularly in book of Amos. And on the other hand, keeping and honoring the great commandments keep the individual little boat or the titanic in which we float in the sea of affliction above water. The standing testimonies recorded and placed upon the altars of history attest to self evident truth or of these undeniable facts. Just read the current news papers or remember fate awful of the colossal of the seas or even the so called, unsinkable Titanic.
The ten or thirteen commandments are the heart wrenching, yet eternally undefeated word of the law. The capital commandments or sins are the jotas of the word of the law and the little commandments or sins are the accents, apostrophes or even the comas or points of the law, which do not carry the immediate application of the entire weighty matters of the law, but if unattended will either shorten our span of life or even lead us slowly but surely unto death. This is why the eternal laws are so divided to gives ample time and a way to make the path of the Lord straight by speedily repenting in order to amend our ways and make restitution.
The capital sins, for instance are those interdependent of the greater law which in opposition to virtue do engender greater sins. These are for instance, pride, arrogance, vanity, envy, intemperance, idleness, hate, over bearing, jealousy and its excesses among others. Any of these things or sins, if unattended, they will, regardless of keeping the greater commandments makes each and all of us ineligible to enter into heaven. And if we are not in paradise or in heaven when we depart this world, we must either be eligible or go to another place until we have paid very Jota of the broken law. This is why even some of us, the ministers of God, will go to hell, either to pay, make ends meet for our shortcomings or to preach the eternal gospel if we did not do it while we had time and the means on earth.
And as far as the spirit of God tells me and I am to express knowledgeably, doing nothing either good or bad make us eligible to be rust into prison or to hell. An unattended house will deteriorate even if no one lived in it. How much more would an inhabited home deteriorate if unorganized or unattended? This is why the Lord told to one of the rulers of the seven churches to be either hot or cold, for if he tasted that they where lukewarm he would puke them from his mouth. I know this with absolute certainty for I have definitely spiritually; and perhaps, I also have temporally experienced. I indeed have been thrown into some form of jail many times for correction both spiritually and temporally. And I thank providence and worship God, because by this experience and for the perfecting of the saints, I know these things and am able and allowed to talk about them with power from God and with the authority of our Father in heaven, for no man has taught me these things but God from on high.
Now, whether inside or outside the gates of the Kingdom, the LORD has, in his infinite wisdom and prudence; and in his longsuffering patience, love and mercy, he has propitiated certain mechanism to escape death and eternal damnation. He has given us the plan of salvation. And he has also provided probations that provide education and also demand discipline and continual corrections to escape temptation and eternal woe.
First of all, he has provided us with rulers, priests of different status, disciplines and applications to make blood or spiritual atonement in altars of freedom, indignation and holiness for all sorts of transgressions. I think I can also name a brief description of a few types of those mentioned altars such as the altar of freedom and liberty which atones for life, liberty, peace, property and prosperity.
The altar of freedom is the red horse of war where the blood of patriots and tyrants is often shed. We have other similar or related altars that affect us either individually, which are the pale horse of famine and pestilence; or the black horse of security or destruction in opposition the white horse of peace. These diverse altars in conjunction are or describe just one type of altar. This altar atones for any and all mortal, capital and little sins especially for those outside the gate. The high priests who officiate upon them are the rulers of city, states or nations, for they have been appointed by God to officiate upon these altars. They are the comptrollers of peace, liberty, prosperity and when all else fails, order and security. And it is only when the cup of oppression is full due to lawlessness and tyranny is full, that the judgments of God pour and fall upon the people in form of wars, famine, pestilence, slavery and even destruction.
There is also the altar of affliction and indignation propitiated for the so called saints or the obedient. Priests or High Priests of the preparatory priesthood or the order of Aaron are and have always been appointed by God under Michael, the great prince of the covenant, to offer up sacrifices and to officiate in righteousness in the ordinances of temporal Salvation under the direction of the Holy One who is without beginning of days pr end of life. Of this it is written:
Who hath appointed Michael your prince, and established his feet, and set him upon high, and given unto him the keys of salvation under the counsel and direction of the Holy One, who is without beginning of days or end of life.
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 78:16)
And it, the altar of affliction and indignation is proportioned to us to offer acceptable sacrifices due to unrepentance and abomination. And it is when the cup of the priests’ indignation gets full of filthiness, which precipitate the temporal and even eternal judgments of God fall even upon his people while they are in the flesh. The priests can only do so much to atone or make sacrifices n order to flush the sins of the people before the cup of the wrath of God overflows and his judgments pour without measure both upon the defiled church and upon the world. And it gets is even worst when the ruling priests who haven been appointed forsake their duty by apostatizing from the truth or by braking the law and changing the everlasting covenant. And it is then when they are made or become polluted and defiled, for in so doing; they sin against God and greatly multiply the sins of the people, for whom there is no atonement. This is where little, capital and even mortal sins are committed and when the work or the cause of God suffers. And in that awful state that or this church stops growing or progressing and when the saints and rebels suffer all sorts of predicaments both in life and in death. This altar of indignation is often found in churches or synagogues. For it is there where hearts are pierced and changed or transformed and where both the priest and the people atone for their sins and renew their covenants when they offer unto the Lord a broken heart and a contrite spirit.
Now, there is one more type of altar that I may know of, and that is the altar of Holy and of holy of Holiness, which are mainly located in high places or in the sacred and most holy temples of our God where the High Priests of the Higher order of Priesthood or the priesthood of Melchizedeck operates and officiates. When state or church fails, this is when the sins of the people reach heaven and the wrath of God is provoked or subject to act. This is where the High Priest of our faith, even our God also officiates, made or makes atonement for our Mortal and eternal sins. Whether in heaven or heaven on earth, this is the last boundary. And it is awful when that boundary is defiled or becomes inoperable. And it is when that happens that the abomination of desolation is set forth and established and great catastrophes, tribulations and calamities fall furiously and indiscriminately upon all people and especially upon the perpetrators. For it is written that he that defiles the temple of God or is responsible to make atonement shall be destroyed.
This is when the prophets and high priests desire to be lodged rather with wild beasts in the desserts rather than with the people. This is when we are filled with wrath, indignation, reprehension and lamentation confessing out loud and wretched in mind, body and soul the sins of the people before our maker. It is when filthiness touches our garments and death enters by our windows, so that the priest can bring about his decreed judgments upon the people justice. This is when we individually or collectively say:
OH that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people! Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men. And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders. And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people? Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait. Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone. And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant. Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through? And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel ; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come: And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion , How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out. Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation.
For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets. Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them. Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised; Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
(Old Testament | Jeremiah 9:1 - 26)
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
(New Testament | Romans 7:23 - 25)
Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard. Nevertheless, notwithstanding the great goodness of the Lord, in showing me his great and marvelous works, my heart exclaimeth: O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities. I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me. And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.
My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep. He hath filled me with his love, even unto the consuming of my flesh. He hath confounded mine enemies, unto the causing of them to quake before me. Behold, he hath heard my cry by day, and he hath given me knowledge by visions in the night–time. And by day have I waxed bold in mighty prayer before him; yea, my voice have I sent up on high; and angels came down and ministered unto me. And upon the wings of his Spirit hath my body been carried away upon exceedingly high mountains. And mine eyes have beheld great things, yea, even too great for man; therefore I was bidden that I should not write them.
O then, if I have seen so great things, if the Lord in his condescension unto the children of men hath visited men in so much mercy, why should my heart weep and my soul linger in the valley of sorrow, and my flesh waste away, and my strength slacken, because of mine afflictions? And why should I yield to sin, because of my flesh? Yea, why should I give way to temptations, that the evil one have place in my heart to destroy my peace and afflict my soul? Why am I angry because of mine enemy?
Awake, my soul! No longer droop in sin. Rejoice, O my heart, and give place no more for the enemy of my soul. Do not anger again because of mine enemies. Do not slacken my strength because of mine afflictions. Rejoice, O my heart, and cry unto the Lord, and say: O Lord, I will praise thee forever; yea, my soul will rejoice in thee, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
O Lord, wilt thou redeem my soul? Wilt thou deliver me out of the hands of mine enemies? Wilt thou make me that I may shake at the appearance of sin? May the gates of hell be shut continually before me, because that my heart is broken and my spirit is contrite! O Lord, wilt thou not shut the gates of thy righteousness before me, that I may walk in the path of the low valley, that I may be strict in the plain road! O Lord, wilt thou encircle me around in the robe of thy righteousness! O Lord, wilt thou make a way for mine escape before mine enemies! Wilt thou make my path straight before me! Wilt thou not place a stumbling block in my way—but that thou wouldst clear my way before me, and hedge not up my way, but the ways of mine enemy.
O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm. Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen.
(Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 4:16 - 35)
Yet despite many ensamples and testimonies of how to act, not all will listen and do what it is expected of them. Some times even when we cry and wail it avails not. People continually reject counsel until the spirit ceases to contend with them and they are left to themselves. They have reached the point of no return and refused to be healed even when we offer unto them Gilead ’s balm as it is also written:
We would have healed Babylon , but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God. Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple. Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon , make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD hath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon . O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness.
(Old Testament | Jeremiah 51:9 - 13)
And for this cause the Lamb of God, even Jesus Christ was appointed to come forth in the meridian of times or the days of iniquity and vengeance. And HE made his life an offering for temporal and eternal effects of sin. HE was sacrificed even outside the gates to embrace both saint and sinner in on order to make everyone and everything subject to him. And He also did it out of love to give us all immortality and to some eternal life and salvation upon the conditions of faith in Jesus Christ for repentance and by our obedience to the Holy Commandments and by endurance in truth, justice, mercy, faith, hope and charity unto the end of our mortal life.
And I now make these things known unto the saints and sinners by way of eternal knowledge not of myself but as I am instructed by the spirit of God, fist as a warning to all and second for the perfecting of the saints.
This I do to keep my garments unspotted from the blood and sins of this generation before I leave this tabernacle of clay. And also I do it to keep us far away from Mortal sins and from those capital sins that that keep us individually and collectively barren from the presence of God and of his holy angels. This I teach today from Zion so that evil is done away in our promised lands and so that we are more faithful in the little things and become truly upright and honest before God. So that we see and esteem our fellow man as we see ourselves. So that we begin to void ourselves as the holy prophets did of contention, back biting, evils speaking of the Lord’s anointed, of loud laughter, of light mindedness, of breaking the word of wisdom and even of failure to pay tithing among many other shortcomings. This is so that we can begin to engender a greater portion or a fullness of truth light and virtue which besides faith, hope, charity and love, bring to our lives, the exalting fruits of the Spirit which are in all faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence. These are essential tools for those that wish to embark in the works of God and the cause of Zion .
For he that says that is free of sin is a liar; and therefore, asking in fervent prayer and supplication, I have repented of the sins I know and have asked God for instructions to correct my own ways and to show me my weakness or where I have failed him. And by these words and in accordance to faith unwavering he has comforted me. For it is due to my own infirmities and filthiness of points and Jota or for minor and or capital sins, that I been spared a little longer and have barely escaped being cut off by the destroyer. For God said unto me and I have taken his admonition as it is written:
And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. Behold, I will show unto the Gentiles their weakness, and I will show unto them that faith, hope and charity bringeth unto me—the fountain of all righteousness.
(Book of Mormon | Ether 12:27 - 28)
To give an end to this journey, I solemnly promise to all that have and read the words of eternal life which haven been given to us for our profit; yea, that if we keep our individual, familiar and collective house in order even in the little things that we know living by every words that comes out of the mouth of God and become familiar with his will as we progress in the gospel, our lives will be prolonged as much as possible or until we finish our work on the earth. For of this it is written:
NOW behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men. Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day. Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work; For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul; And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work. Remember faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence. Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 4:1 - 7)
I write these things for grieves my soul greatly even to death, making my bones to quake and tremble by the knowledge that one souls is given or entrusted into eternal torment. And it is my sincere desire to mitigate this peril among family, friends and foes alike. Of these things, this unworthy servant humbly testifies for the temporal and eternal welfare of your soul and my soul and I do it with proper authority in the Holy and sacred name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Attentively yours
Eliakim, the faithful priest within me
